First of all, Happy Holidays. Less than a week to go until Christmas and I’m almost caught up, although that may change with the basketball game on Tuesday. I’ll try to not take too many pictures. I’ll probably get no presents this year, at least from my family anyway. I’m okay with that, though. I’m close to that D5000, I have someone that is interested in the SB-600 and Sigma 30mm f/1.4. I figure that I should actually just buy a D5000 once I get that money, then get the 35mm f/1.8G when I can. A fresh start with the D5000 in 2010 would be nice- since I’m planning to do 365 days again. I’m also considering just shooting JPEG with the D5000, because of the much larger RAW files. It depends on if my computer slows to a crawl or not.

Anyway, it’s getting late and I should go work on that essay that’s due tomorrow. Wooo…

I think I should just stop taking pictures for the next few days so I can CATCH UP. God I hate having a backlog. It feels so…

Sorry guys, forgot all about you :P. Been quite busy lately- a backlog of images were starting to pile up and I’m recording video of the boys’ basketball games at my school so for away games I only have about 1 to 1 and a half hours after school before I have to leave and usually I’m not home until 9ish. Home games are at least a bit less stressful :).

I’m thinking of selling a few things to get a D5000. SB-600 would get me around $200, the D50 would get me around $250, and I am thinking of selling the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 and getting the Nikon AF-S 35mm f/1.8G which results in another $100-150.

Also, from recording the basketball games I think I am getting around $150-200 so that’s $800 there. The D5000 is only $550-600 (well, now, I don’t know about after the holidays- I don’t know if those are holiday prices or not) so I can either keep the D50 or the SB-600. If I kept the D50 I could either keep it for myself as back up or give it to Jake. If I keep the SB-600… well, then I put it away for months at a time until I need it :P.

The D50 would get me more money. The SB-600 would last me longer and wouldn’t depreciate as much. Then again my D50 has a scratch on the focusing screen so it might get quite a bit less than the $250 I’m estimating.

On Saturday, Jake and I met up at the Metro Pulse bus stop and went to the library across the street. We stayed in there for the majority of the time, although we did go to Starbucks at one point. Once Jake got on his bus I had to wait about 40 minutes for mine. So. Cold.

Well, first time recording it. Yes, this post is a… bit late. My second time recording it will be today, in about two hours. This time it’s a home game though so not much traveling required, at least for me.

On Monday I went to Nicole’s house after school. It was rainy and we stopped at CVS so she could get some index cards. We dropped off our stuff at her place and then went to McDonalds, where I got two double cheeseburgers and she got 8 nuggets. After we finished those, we ordered sundaes, with extra happy. The worker just looked at me weirdly and gave us our sundaes, with absolutely no happy. Yay for posts with no emotion.

A late post but a post nonetheless. What did I do for Thanksgiving? I went to Jennifer’s house (one of my niece’s). After eating some turkey, I asked my parents if I could stay over and they said yes, so I stayed over. And woke up at 3:30ish for Black Friday the next day.

Coincidentally, we got a 69 on this “assignment”. (Just a fun thing we did in study hall, we had to make food look good. Well, I think that was the point… :P). It wasn’t an actual grade :P.

I woke up a minute before my alarm went off- 5:29. Jason IMed me and told me he was about to leave. I got ready and around 6:10 he arrived in the driveway. I was already downstairs by then and was just putting my shoes on. In his car, I took his GPS and put in Jake’s address. A few red lights later, we were at Jake’s house. I was about to knock on his door but saw him looking out the window so I just went back into the car. Moments later, he came out of his house and into the car. Off we went- to the State Pier.

We were the last ones to arrive, and boy was it cold near the water. Once we met up with the others, Bob gave Jake the A3000 to use along with three rolls of film.

I am too lazy to describe the rest of the meet up, so take a look at the photos, which are not in chonological order :P.

After the meet up, I went to Deering Oaks park with Jake.

On the 17th, three US Coast Guards visited Deering (at least one was a graduate of Deering, I am not sure about the other two). They landed their helicopter in the field. During lunch, students gathered around and asked the coast guards all the questions they wanted and everyone who wanted to got to go into the helicopter (although not for a ride, unfortunately :P).

I heard of the helicopter beforehand but didn’t know what they were talking about until I walked around and one of my friends asked me if I saw the helicopter. So I asked where, and she told me. The vice principal wanted some shots of the Longfellow kids that were going to come after lunch at Deering ended, so she excused me from class (well, part of it). She also excused Jake when I brought him to the helicopter after finding him right before lunch ended. We stayed for something like 15 minutes- not long. After taking some pictures, Jake and I decided to run back to the school. No idea why. Then we went to class.
