Justin Comes to Maine

Onlooking Jake
Onlooking Jake by David Chu on Zooomr

We vaguely planned a meet up for the 30th a while ago but only came up with all the details the day before… except that I still did not know if Justin was coming or not. I woke up at around 8 AM and got ready at around 9. I bugged Justin on IM until he responded at 11. He decided that he would join us (Jake and I <3) after all. Jake got on AIM right before I was about to leave. I told him some last minute things and then left.

I took the bus downtown and then went into Starbucks to get Jake's gift (a $15 gift card) and then went down to CVS to print some pictures for my mom. After I did that, I went to the bus stop and waited for the #4 bus. I got off at Sagamore and began looking. As I neared Jake's house, a person from school yelled out “DAVID CHU IS GAY.” multiple times. Not that I really cared, it’s not much of an insult. He’s just an asshole. I knocked on Jake’s door and he come outside momentarily and we went on our way to the bus stop. We messed around with the cameras for a bit while waiting for the bus to come.

Once we arrived, I suggested that we go to the place that Justin parked at to see if he got there yet. Nope. So we headed back and went to a photo store to get some film for the F100. 36 Exposure Tri-X. Then we went back to the parking garage. I was just about to sit down when I saw/heard Justin come out… “Chu!”

It started off really slow at first: Justin: Soo…
Me: Sooo…
Justin: So…
Me: So…
Justin: So…

and finally

Me: Got fisheye?
Justin: Yeah, want to use it?

So I used the fisheye for the beginning of the meet. Later on I also used his AF-S VR 70-300mm. After an awkward silence, we decided to go down to the harbor first. We did eventually, but not without wandering around like I usually do. Justin and I got hungry after taking pictures near the water… so we went to the Subway on Congress Street. Jake didn’t want anything to eat so he just went to Starbucks to get a drink. We ended up staying in there for quite a while, just messing around with the cameras and putting a Zooomr sticker on the glass window (Justin did it not me xD). I’ll be back soon to see if it is still there. I gave Jake his gift early (tomorrow marks 1 month together!). Jake was supposed to leave at 3 PM but of course we stayed until around 5 PM haha. Justin drove him home and dropped him off away from his house so that it seemed like he took the bus home. His excuse was that he missed the bus. Justin also took me home. That just about sums up everything we did…

Love you, Jake <3. See you tomorrow.

Open Red
Open Red by David Chu on Zooomr

Today was slightly different from my usual day. In the morning I went with Jake to the art room so he could finish his painting. He finished with 1 minute to spare (7:44) so we ran back up into our math class. Not that the teacher would have cared, but we made it there before the bell rang. There were no two seats in a row free so we had to sit separately…

The seniors were in the gym practicing for their graduation or something so we spent gym class in the cafeteria eating/talking/doing a crossword puzzle for extra credit. We might do the same tomorrow if the weather is feeling down again… which is expected.

During study hall we had an ass of a substitute that made the 4th floor art teacher seem kind. She wouldn’t let us go to the darkroom at first (“had to read for 25 minutes”… yeahno) but we told her it was for photo club. Only Sam had his planner. The sub told us to have someone get our names (Sam, Christian, Jake, David… me) written down by Mrs. Dodson. I took Sam’s planner and ran to Mrs. Dodson and had her write the note. Then we all left the study hall and went to the darkroom… yay! We spent the block talking, making perverted jokes, and making out. Well, that last part only Jake and I did. Haha. I love you, Jake <3.

The bus was packed so Christian and I decided to walk home. It was raining. It seemed like a good idea at the time. Once we started walking it didn't seem like a good idea anymore (to me, anyway). Once I got home and looked at the pictures I took while walking home, it seemed like a good idea again…

I only need 3 more photos for SoFoBoMo. If I’m lucky, I’ll get more than the required amount and be able to choose the better ones rather than just throwing everything in.

As for school, today was a great day. Easy worksheet in math, an activity in science (haven’t finished yet…) and playing tennis outside in gym (and NOT sweating to death- yay slightly colder weather!). We also ran a mile. For some reason my shoulder was hurting really bad during the second half. After gym was lunch. I went to the darkroom with Jake so we could have some alone time. We stayed there the whole lunch, and for the whole fourth block, although during fourth block, Christian was there too. We lost track of time so we never went down to our study hall teacher to tell her that we were in the darkroom… “printing”. I really enjoyed the time alone with Jake. With Christian there, the mood turns from romantic to not, and back to romantic every 2 seconds… Anyway, I’m looking forward to tomorrow now. I love you, Jake.
